Born in 1972 in Zagreb. In 1996. graduated history at Faculty of social sciences and humanities of the University of Zagreb. Following year obtained MA in Medieval Studies at Central European University (Budapest, Hungary). In 1999 defended MA thesis entitled Daily life in taverns of late medieval Dubrovnik, and in 2006 PhD thesis Plague in Dubrovnik 1348-1349, both at University of Zagreb. From 1998 works at the Croatian  Institute of History, as a researcher of medieval history. From 1998 until 2013 engaged  at Studia Croatica of the University of Zagreb as a lecturer of medieval history and  usage of IT in history. From 2011 until 2017 worked as lecturer at Croatian Catholic  University. From 2011 until 2018 held position of assistant director of the Croatian Institute of History, and head of the Department of medieval history at the Institute.

From 2019 acts as director of Croatian Institute of History.

Cooperated at several editions of Lexicographical Institute Miroslav Krleža. He participated in many scholarly conferences in Croatia and abroad. He wrote two books, several text-books for elementary and high schools, and edited three monographs of scholarly articles.
