Dr Nagwa Meguid is a pioneering researcher that has already accomplished tremendous achievements in the fields of Human genetics and psychiatric genetics. She is a Senior Geneticist at the Genetics Institute, Pasadena, California; a fellow of Uppsala University, Sweden and Yale University USA. The impact of her research ranks her among the very elite researchers in the world. Her work on autism is widely published worldwide (Science, Disease Markers, JAMA…).where she participated in the discovery of new genes. She had a licensed patent “Formulation of dairy beverage for autism offering promising insights and interventions for myriad of disorders including autism and ADHD as well as food-related disorders. Furthermore, her support and advice has the power to greatly boost a woman scientist’s career. She is an inspirational supervisor to around 70 master and PhD students which will continue to impact society through her mentorship of young investigators. She has established a network for women  in Egypt and the Arab world.

  Dr Meguid has been awarded (for women in Science) for Africa & Middle East from UNESCO/L’Oreal in Genetics and Disability,2002. Distinctive Arab Female Geneticist Prize, Bahrain Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain. National Research Centre Appreciation Prize in Medical Sciences.  National State of Appreciation Award in advanced  Technology serving Medical Science. President of Committee for National Scientific Awards Academy of Scientific Research and Technology 2017. Head of the CONEM Egypt Child Brain Research Group Council for Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (Norway). Member in Ethical Committee of the National Research Centre (2014-2019).
