I am a freelance science journalist and writer operating from the North West of England. My areas of expertise are quantum mechanics, astronomy, cosmology and physics. I believe that I can also turn my hand to a variety of subjects—including non-science topics such as film, television and comic books.

My academic achievements include BSc level qualifications in physics, maths and science communication with the Open University, and a journalism diploma with the NCTJ.

I have developed methods of rapport building and communication that I utilise to communicate complex ideas as simply and entertainingly as possible. I am a member of the Association of British Science Writers, the Institute of Physics and American Physical Society. I receive embargoed news from the AAAS via Eureka Alert!, Alpha Galileo and via Taylor, Francis Journalist Services, and numerous research institutions and universities.
