Dr Radenka Krsmanović Whiffen is the co-founder and Chair of the Western Balkans Chapter of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA). This Chapter aims to connect and represent MSCA fellows and alumni from the Western Balkan region. This role enables her to engage with and represent the interest of researchers from across the region, advocating for dialogue, the free exchange of ideas and working towards common goals. Her principal interests include the relationship between research and science policy, and instruments to develop and encourage academic integrity and responsible research environments.

She is a current Maria Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellow at the ENEA Casaccia Research Centre, in Rome, Italy working on her project developing nanomaterials for pyroelectric energy harvesting. Other research interests in material science and solid-state physics include luminescent nanomaterials and hybrid polymer-based materials. She has worked as an expert evaluator for a variety of national and European funding bodies.
