Sonia Ibrahim is a second-year PhD student at Breuer Marcell Doctoral School of Architecture, University of Pécs, Hungary.

2012-2017: Arch. Ibrahim studied Master in Architecture Design and worked as a lecturer at The Faculty of Architecture- Damascus University, taught Subjects: Principles of Architectural design / Renovation for Historical Buildings and sites / History of Islamic Architecture, and participated in the preparation, management and scientific supervision of workshops and conferences.

Arch. Ibrahim worked at the  Directorate General of Antiquities & Museums- Syria, since 2012:  participated in the documentation works for Damascus Citadel buildings, documenting the excavations and preparing the studies related to the rehabilitation and restoration of the citadel, and from 2017 till now the architect started working at the General administration of DGAM to supervise conservation projects of different governance in Syria. In 2013, Arch. Ibrahim worked as a landscape architect in the core design team at Massar Rose Discovery Center (MDC) a project of the Syria Trust for development. In 2012, The Architect won the second position in the design competition in the Philippines. In 2016, she participated in The Regional Leadership course on First Aid and Risk Management of Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis at the Regional Conservation Center, ICCROMATHAR in Sharjah (United Arab Emirates). From 2016, a Member of ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites). In 2017, participated in the International Workshop on First Aid for Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis organized by ICCROM in Rome/ Italy.
