Dr. Mirabbos Hojamberdiev is Senior Researcher at at Uzbekistan-Japan Innovation Center of Youth, Uzbekistan. His main research activity centers at the synthesis, characterization, and application of visible-light-active photocatalytic materials for energy and environmental applications. Dr. Hojamberdiev published more than 165 papers, of which more than 80 are first-authored, in international peer-reviewed journals with high impact factor, given numerous invited talks at conferences, become a member of international professional societies, including American Chemical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry, etc. He has been elected as a TWAS Young Affiliate for 2016-2020 and a member of Global Young Academy for 2016-2020, established an excellent international scientific network even in least developing countries and has been serving as a reviewer, attracting sufficient research funding, supervising graduate students, and preparing textbooks and teaching standards. For his outstanding research work, he was awarded with the President’s Award of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2004, TWAS Prize for Young Scientists in Developing Countries in 2010, and Atta-ur-Rahman Prize in Chemistry for Young Scientists in 2015 by the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Georg Forster Research Award by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in 2017, and IUPAC-CHEMRAWN VII Prize for Green Chemistry and the Marie Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA) Individual Fellowship funded by European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Programme in 2018. His ultimate scientific goal is to develop inexpensive, efficient and stable photocatalytic systems for visible-light-induced overall water splitting for hydrogen generation and environmental remediation.
