Dr. Gamze Gumuslu-Gur earned her BSc and MSc degrees in Chemical Engineering from Bogazici University in 2008 and 2010, respectively. She received her PhD degree in Chemical Engineering in 2014 at Carnegie Mellon University. Immediately after her graduation, she was appointed as a postdoctoral scholar in the same department. Later in 2014, she joined University of California, Davis Chemical Engineering Department as a postdoctoral scholar. In 2016, Dr. Gumuslu-Gur was appointed as a Faculty member at the rank of assistant professor in the Chemical Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University (ITU). At ITU, she is an affiliate faculty member at the newly founded Synthetic Gas Fuel Research Center. Dr. Gumuslu-Gur worked at Carnegie Mellon University as a visiting researcher during summer 2016, and as a visiting scholar in the Omar Yaghi research group at University of California, Berkeley-Chemistry Department during summer 2017. Dr. Gumuslu-Gur’s main research focus/interest is on high-throughput catalysis and reaction engineering to improve existing reaction systems/processes, and to efficiently produce energy/energy sources by catalyst design and optimization. In 2019, Dr. Gumuslu-Gur was appointed as the Vice Chair of Istanbul Technical University, Chemical Engineering Department. She is married and has one child.
