My introduction to development aspects took place during the 4 years at university in Russia when studying language, culture and economics of the Arab States. Then I became an intern and a further employee in the research and development centre in Moscow, working with Arabic speaking Internet to estimate the level of media activity of terrorist organizations. Next chapter in the development sector discovery took place in Cairo (Egypt). My first visit to the country was connected with an internship at Russian Trade Representation there for a month. Looking back, I now consider that experience prompting, as it made me see poverty and low living standards with my own eyes. Consequently, I strongly wanted to be engaged in those activities, and I applied for the internship of teaching English in Egypt through an international students’ organization AIESEC. I worked with 20 children, enhancing my communicative capacities with children and my supervisors. That unprecedented experience elucidated that there is an interdependence of all aspects of development when education can spur growth. On that stage of my involvement in the development sector, I was introduced to a volunteering project “Save our seas”, taking place in Egypt. I started researching on the topic and thinking about applying for the master’s in the field. Stipendium Hungaricum gave me such an opportunity. Today as an environmental economics student at Corvinus University of Budapest I want to grow further in the sector.
