I, Angela Gono-Bwalya as a scientist of Pharmacognosy, obtained a BSc in Biology and Chemistry in 2000 at University of Zambia. In 2001, I pursued a BSc(Honours) degree in Plant taxonomy and systematics from University of the Witwatersrand, in South africa. thereafter, I obtained an MSc in medicine at the same University in 2003. In 2015, I was awarded a PhD degree in Pharmacognosy by the University College London, UK.

I started my career in 2000 as a herbarium research officer for Southern Africa biodiversity network, the joined the University of Zambia in 2004 as a Lecturer and Researcher in the School of Medicine, Department of Pharmacy. I have been Assistant Dean-Postgraduate studies in 2017 in the School of Health Sciences, UNZA. My research interest is focused on Phytochemistry and characterization of traditional medicine for the development of Zambia herbal monographs.
