Dorra GHORBEL is Professor of Higher Education in Biological Engineering at the National Institute of Applied Science and Technology (INSAT, Carthage University), and present General Director of the Tunis Science City (TSC).

She pursued engineering studies at the Higher School of Food Industries of Tunis (Tunisia), before joining the great AgroParisTech Institute (France) in 1994, to obtain a second engineering diploma in food industries and a DEA in food sciences from AgroParisTech. In 1998 she obtained the doctorate degree in food sciences from AgroParisTech, where she became specialized in Rheology. In 1999, she became the first academic woman teaching this subject in its original School. She teaches at the INSAT and other Tunisian engineering public schools since 2000. She is member of the Evaluation, Analysis and Food Safety Laboratory (LAVASA, ENIS, Sfax University) and she is also active in innovation, technological transfer, industrial property and popularization of science. She managed the Center for Innovation and Development of the INSAT and she is a founding member of different Tunisian Scientific associations. She is also the General Director of the Tunis Science City since February 2018.
