Rajae El Aouad is Professor of Immunology, holding a Doctorate of Medical Studies, a Master of Sciences and a Master of Health Policy and Management. She is Resident Member of the Hassan II Academy of Sciences and Technology (HIIAST) and a Member of the Steering Committee of the Royal Institute for Strategic Studies (IRES) of Morocco.

After a career, almost 29 years, in the public sector as Professor of Immunology, Director of the Immunology-Virology Department, and Director of the National Institute of Hygiene, she moved to the private sector in 2018, to establish a private Clinical Laboratory to fill the needs of Certified Laboratory testing for clinical research trials and  emerging biotechnology companies in Morocco. 

Before leaving the public sector, she delivered a reform project of this institute to a National Public Health Agency supported through an institutional twinning programme MA07/AA/SO11 (2008-2012) funded by the European commission (3 million Euros).

Rajae  has served on several international scientific committees.

She has built a solid network of reputable partners among world-class universities, public health institutions, and national and international NGOs. She concluded Technical and Scientific Agreements with several national and International Health research institutions.

She is still committed to impact on health policies by engaging in several initiatives to provide with evidence to inform policies (health inequalities, health research strategy, public health priorities) .

Rajae El Aouad was named to  the Women in Science Hall of Fame by the U.S. Department of State in 2012.
