I currently work as an officer of the Department of Science and Technology of the Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade, in which I oversee government-funded researches in food science and biotechnology, develop and implement food safety policies and national technical standards for major food products, and build strategies to promote R&D as well as application of science and technology in the food sector, with particular attention to international technical barriers, technology audit, green manufacturing, climate change, and Industrial Revolution 4.0. Having come from a strong background in both food science and agricultural economics, I am very interested the socioeconomic impacts of scientific advances in biotechnology & bioinformatics, the implications that these advances will have on international relationships, and the strategies that nations and societies will have to develop to navigate the future. I hope that the dialogues in the World Science Forum 2019 will provide me with well-rounded, up-to-date perspectives that will help me advice Vietnam's strategies in the near future.
