Professor Jonathan Dawes is an applied mathematician; his research areas include mathematical biology, machine learning, and network science. One of his current projects is to use mathematical techniques to understand interlinkages between the Sustainable Development Goals.

 

As Director of Bath’s Institute for Mathematical Innovation (IMI) he leads a team who create new mathematical collaborations with industry, and support cross-disciplinary projects involving mathematics, natural and social sciences, and engineering.

 

His personal portfolio includes consultancy work for industrial and non-profit organisations including UNICEF. He is a member of the Strategic Advisory Team for the UK’s Mathematical Sciences theme within the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
