Kosta Barjaba is serving as Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania since May 2018.

Kosta Barjaba is member of the Academy of Sciences of Albania since 2011.

His areas of expertise include migration, poverty , labour market, employment and unemployment, social exclusion, ethnic relations and youth.

Professor Barjaba periodically publishes in varous in academic journals in Albania and the USand Europe.

Professor Barjaba has had several academic positions in Albania, such as Rector of University of Durres, Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences at the Mediterranean University of Albania and professor of sociology at the European University of Tirana, Albania.
