Lovorka Barać Lauc obtained BS in biology, MS in natural sciences and PhD in biological anthropology at the University of Zagreb. Her training also includes a research experience as a French Government stipendist at the Laboratoire d'hematologie, Faculte de Pharmaciein Boredeaux and specialization in high-resolution phylogenetic analyses at the Department of Evolutionary Biology, Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Tartu University. During 1992-2009 dr. Barać Lauc worked as a researcher at the Institute for Anthropological Research in Zagreb, where she co-founded the Laboratory for Molecular Anthropology. From 2009 dr. Barać Lauc served as the executive director of the Croatian Science Foundation, and today is head of the Young Researchers Department. Dr. Barać Lauc has taught graduate courses at the University of Zagreb, Methods in Molecular Anthropology and Molecular Anthropology, participated in national and international research projects and published in leading anthropological and genetic peer-reviewed journals. In 2013, dr. Barać Lauc was appointed as Croatian delegate to European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and European Molecular Biology Conference (EMBC).
