András Báldi is a conservation biologist interested in farmland biodiversity and ecosystem services. His research addresses patterns of biological diversity of various taxa across Europe, in landscapes with different management history and intensity, and with different political history. Recently, he studies the relationship between biodiversity and ecosystem services, mainly in pollination, biological pest control and soil fertility (decomposition). He is active at the science-policy interface, among others, he chairs the high level panel to the Hungarian Mapping and Assessing Ecosystem Services program, the Environment Foresight: Hungary 2050 project, member of the EASAC Environment Steering Panel, the Knowledge and Data Task Force of IPBES, and former member of the IPBES Multidisciplinary Expert Panel.
