Luc Allemand is a French scientific information and communication consultant based in Paris, France, with 25 years experience. A doctor from Sorbonne Université, Paris. His activity is currently devoted mainly to the science developed in Africa and by African scientists ; some of these activities can be seen at www.afriscitech.com. He is the main driver of the YAS_E and YAS_NA (Young African Scientists in Europe ; Young African Scientists in North America) conferences (the first YAS_E conference has been held in Toulouse in July 2018 ; the first YAS_NA conference is scheduled in Montreal in May 2020). These conferences are dedicated to African scientists from the diaspora and their opportunities to contribute to the development of science and technology in their home countries. Luc has been a consultant for the Next Einstein Forum, CIMPA (Centre International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées), APSA (Association pour la Promotion Scientifique de l’Afrique). His scope is also worldwide : he is the Secretary General of the International Year of Basic Sciences for Development 2022 (IYBSD 2022) project that has recently been voted by UNESCO Executive Council, and should be promulgated during 2020 UN General Assembly.
