Dr Al-Haddabi is holding the position of the Assistant Secretary General for Research and Scientific Programs at the Research Council of Oman since 2008. He is responsible for designing and implementing research and innovation funding programs at the national level. Dr. Al-Haddabi holds PhD and MS degrees in Aerospace Engineering as well as MS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering all obtained from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA in 2000. He graduated with a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University in 1992. Before joining The Research Council, Dr Al-Haddabi served as an academic staff at the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department of Sultan Qaboos University for 16 years. He was promoted to the level of Associate professor in 2007 and served 4 years in the position of the Assistant Dean of College of Engineering for Post Graduate Education and Research. Dr Al-Haddabi also served as a visiting professor during 2007/2008 at Aeronautics Engineering Department of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA. He also served during 2005 as a visiting assistant professor at the aeronautics-astronautics engineering department of Stanford University, California, USA. In 2003 he served as visiting scholar at RWTH Flight Dynamics Institute of Aachen University, Germany. Dr Al-Haddabi research interest is in complex systems analysis and control and he published more than 40 research papers in well-reputed scientific journals.
