As a systems practitioner, Ali Hessami is involved globally in matters of safety, security, sustainability assurance and corporate governance in complex socio-technical systems. He Chairs the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) landmark IEEE P7000 standard focused on “Ethical Considerations in System Design”. He is also the VC and Process Architect of the IEEE Ethics Standardisation Programme that applies to all matters of incorporating AI into business and technological processes and products.

Ali is a Visiting Professor at London City University’s Centre for Systems and Control and at Beijing Jiaotong University School of Electronics & Information Engineering. He is also a Fellow of Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), Fellow of the UK Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) and a Senior Member of IEEE.
