Éva Dékány earned her PhD in theoretical linguistics from the University of Tromsø in 2012. Since then she has been working at the Research Institute for Linguistics (Hungarian Academy of Sciences). She is currently a HAS Premium Postdoctoral Fellow. Her research in generative syntax and morphosyntax focuses on the structure of the Noun Phrase and clausal embedding in Hungarian and Uralic languages. She is co-president of the Young Academy of Hungary (2019-2020), associate editor of Acta Linguistica Academica, an international journal of linguistics, and an external member of the Theoretical Linguistics Department of Eötvös University (Budapest). She has been awarded the György Szépe Publication Prize, the József Herman Junior Researchers’ Prize, the Junior Prima Prize, the Young Researchers’ Prize of HAS and the Burgen Sholarship Award of the European Academy. She also won prizes at the 2014 Olinco Conference and at the 51st Meeting of the Societas Linguistica Europaea.
