Mitchell Young is an Assistant Professor in the Department of European Studies at Charles University. His research is directed towards knowledge governance and science policies in the EU and Member States both internally as a form of European integration and externally though science diplomacy as tool in foreign policy. More specifically his research addresses the public management, policy tools, and institutional context of research and higher education policy and the concept of science diplomacy as a means to address questions of foreign policy and global challenges. He teaches courses on EU policies, Knowledge governance, comparative political economy, and European economic integration. He is a work package leader for the Horizon 2020 project ‘Using science for/in diplomacy for addressing global challenges’ (S4D4C).
