I am a full professor at Eötvös Loránd University, teaching courses in general psychology, behavior genetics and statistics. I am head of the MTA-ELTE Lendület Adaptation Research Group at the Institute of Psychology, pursuing studies promoting successful adaptation to survive challenges in various educational environments. I am head of the Behaviour Regulation Module of the Doctoral School of Psychology, Eötvös Loránd University and head of the Division of Affective and Cognitive Psychology at the Hungarian Psychological Association.

As a PhD student I studied cross-linguistic predictors of Picture Naming (result of these studies has been shared publicly over two decades, serving as useful norm for various disciplines: https://crl.ucsd.edu/experiments/ipnp/). Later my research has focused primarily on genetic markers of individual differences in temperament and cognitive performance. I’ve established the Psychogenetic Research Group in 2009, with a focus on research topics supported by the National Research, Development and Innovative Office (NKFI) of the Hungarian Government. Collaboration with the Semmelweis University resulted a gene bank consisting of several thousand biological samples linked to detailed psychological profiles.

Recently I’ve established an interdisciplinary team of researchers from the fields of psychology and education and together with information technology specialists we work together to carry out large-scale field-studies to investigate resilience across a wide variety of age groups. We apply novel IT-based solutions to measure changes in emotional well-being and social relations of freshmen utilizing psychophysiological, neurological and behaviour-based real-time data.
