Prof.Dr.Peter Panfilov MSc(Hons), PhD. Prof. Panfilov holds a position of professor at the National Research University - Higher School of Economics (NRU HSE) of Moscow, Russia, where he leads the Big Data Systems Master's program within the School of Business Informatics. He graduated from Moscow Institute of Electronic Machine-Building the MIEM (now part of NRU HSE) in 1982 with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering, and received his PhD degree from Russian Academy of Sciences' Institute of Control Sciences (ICS RAS) in 1992. He held visiting professorship positions within the Faculty of universities in the US, Finland, Austria, and Turkey including SUNY at Binghamton, Yeditepe University of Istanbul, Espoo-Vantaa Institute of Technology (now Metropolia UAS) of Helsinki, and UAS Technikum Wien of Vienna. Prof. Panfilov undertakes research in the technological and human factors aspects of real-time simulation and visual computing, real-time and embedded computing for indistrial applications, distributed and high-performance computing for data-intensive applications with regular contributions to projects in the fields of aerospace, industrial automation, high-performance data analytics, and smart environments. Peter Panfilov is one of Russia's longest-standing visionaries in the field of VR/AR/MR, having in 1994 established and led one of the first successful VR laboratory in Russian simulation industry. Since then Prof Panfilov has been involved in number of projects both in Russia and abroad and was regularly invited to lecture on real-time computing and simulation, visual computing and VR, distributed computing and data analytics at many universities and major international events.
