I hold a Phd degree in Medical Microbiology from the University of Lagos , Nigeria ( 1989 ). 

I am a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa.

I was a former Council member of the South African Council of Natural Scientific Professions.

I have served as Deputy Vice Chancellor , Academic Affairs , which includes the research portfolio in two South African Universities ( University of Fort Hare and Walter Sisulu University).

I have been Acting Executive Dean of the Faculty of Applied and Natural Sciences , University of Venda , South Africa ; Director of the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences , University of South Africa and currently Dean of the School of Science and Technology, Sefako Magkatho Health Sciences University , South Africa .

I am a rated researcher of the National Research Foundation, South Africa.

I have published widely and supervised several Masters and Doctoral students .

I have attracted research grants from national and international funding agencies .

I am a member of the Board of the National Health Laboratory Service , South Africa and a reviewer of some journals .

Being the Dean of Science and Technology in the only Health Sciences University in South Africa , I wish to harness the benefits of interacting with leading Scientists and Presidents of different Academies to leverage the profile of Science and Technololgy at the University.
