I am Sarah Neubauer, 32 years old and have been working in journalism for the last decade.

I studied journalism at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana where I graduated in 2011. During my studies, since 2006, I have also been working for the Slovenian national television Televizija Slovenija.

In 2009 I also worked for Delo, the biggest Slovenian newspaper at that time. During the first years at TV Slovenia I have been a news desk assistant. After that I started to work as a TV-journalist and I covered everything that we needed to cover in our news: from everyday-life stories to politics before devoting my work mostly to science field in the last two years and also environment in the last year.

I got the opportunity to make my own documentary in the production of Televizija Slovenija. It’s about the problem of plastics, titled ‘The price of plastics’ (‘Cena plastike’). It was published in February 2019.

The film addresses the problem of waste thoroughly - it shows how the price of plastics on the market doesn’t reflex the costs it takes to our environment and health.

In our news programme I continue to cover this topic as also other important environmental issues. The themes that interest me the most are preparations for environmental changes (agriculture, forestry, biodiversity and invasive species...) and changes in the field of work and employment connected to AI and the rise of robotics efficiency.
