Maysoun is a plant biologist with expertise in sustainable agriculture and food systems. She is a Senior Manager for Research Strategy at Crops For the Future – the world’s first centre dedicated to research on underutilised crops. Prior to her appointment, Maysoun joined Southeast Asian Council For Food Security and Fair Trade (SEACON), a regional NGO that facilitates dialogue and collaboration for food security across ASEAN. She has engaged in projects for enhancing smallholder farmers' livelihoods, such as stewardship programs for best farming practices and promoting knowledge-sharing through ICT platforms.

Maysoun completed her PhD in Biosciences from the University of Nottingham and is a certified Project Management Professional.
