Currently, a Senior Lecturer at the School of Biological Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Khayriyyah Mohd Hanafiah was awarded the prestigious Australian Endeavour Research Fellowship in 2017, and became the Champion of FameLab International, the world’s biggest and longest running science communication competition in 2018. Since then, she has been active in public engagement and building capacity in science communication by conducting several training workshops. Khayriyyah is a Young Scientist Network-Academy of Sciences Malaysia Affiliate and Malaysian Science Communication Network co-founder, she chairs the Malaysian Science Communication Module working group. She co-founded the Sustainable Palm Oil Movement, a Malaysian-based movement to increase awareness and push for a balanced and evidence-based perspective in the palm oil debate.
