Dr Konte is a senior expert in innovation policy at the African Observatory for Science Technology and Innovation (AOSTI), a specialized technical office of the African Union Commission. Prior to this position, he was the Director of Thechnological Research in the Ministry of scientific research in Senegal from 2006 to 2012. Besides this function, he was a lecturer and researcher at University Cheikh Annta Diop of Dakar and at University Gaston Berger of Saint-Louis in Senegal. Dr Konte has provided several times its expertise to assist UNESCO, NEPAD agency, ISESCO, ECOWAS in their STI capacity building programme for african countries. Dr Konte is co-aouthor in the UNESCO 2015 science report especially in the chapter on ECOWAS region.
