Prof.Demberel Shirchin is academician of Mongolian Academy of Sciences  and  professor Veterinary medicine at the Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. He has a veterinary master‘s from MULS and doctorate (Ph.D) degree from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Science  doctor ( Sc.D) from Mongolian Academy of Sciences. 

He research field is focused on growth physiology, digestive pathologies of young animals and especially the study of beneficial microorganisms and their application. He studied the microflora in traditional fermented milk products Mongolia and probiotics from Lactic Acid Bacteria. He holds over 10 Mongolian patents, authored and co-authored several books,chapters and research paper’s, one of founder start up company “Monbiotic”. 

In the addition to research activities Demberel  Shirchin was a scientific secretary in the Council of Agricultural Science (1987-1990), Vice President of the MULS, Chairman the Council of Agricultural Science (2003-2009), director of the Innovation and Technology transfer Center (2010-2013)

Professor Demberel  Shirchin is member of  EBC  the Asian Federation of Societies  for Lactic Acid Bacteria (AFSLAB) and is the country representative this Federation.
