Dr. Alfonso de Hoyos y Fernández de Córdova (PhD) received his Doctorate in December 2011 with a Thesis on Magnetoencephalography (“Sincronización y Coherencia en la Actividad Cerebral”/ “Synchronization and Coherence in Brain Activity”) which received “Cum Laude” distinction. In this process he developed substantial expertise in all techniques of Array Signal Processing (LCMV, DICS, SAM, MUSIC, Synthetic Aperture Radar, Phased Arrays, et al.) as well as in Machine Learning.
He received “With Merit” distinction in the Masters Executive Program in Big Data & Business Analytics (MSMK) 2015.
He has substantial working knowledge of Big Data technologies and Analytics techniques.
He is currently working at the Hospital Clínico San Carlos (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) as a Scientific Researcher and Data Scientist. His research concentrates in fluid dynamics and the use of Machine/Deep Learning in Cardiology.
He has worked for BOSCH as Data Scientist.
Prior to that he has taken part in a number of joint projects with the Industry with both Public and Private Corporations (Healthcare and Railway, among other sectors).
He took part in the M2EMS European Project.
Consequently, his research interests include also Nanostructured magnetic materials (especially thin films), Computational Electromagnetics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, EM Compatibility, Computer Vision and High Performance Computing.
He has expertise in R, Python, MatLab/Octave, Java, Scala, C/C++/C#, FORTRAN, VB, and VB.NET.
