Tibor Babos (Ph.D.) is a senior researcher in Hungary currently working as the Director of the Security Research Center, Szent István University. He is also the Director of the Security Science Center and of the Security Science College at the University of Óbuda. He is a Distinguished Professor at the University of Óbuda and at the National University of Public Administration.
He previously served in the Hungarian Defense Forces, in the Hungarian Military Intelligence Office, worked for the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Public Service and Justice and the Prime Minister’s Office. As a Hungarian Strategic, Capability and Force Planning Representative he served four years at the NATO and EU in Brussels. In 2008-2009 he was the elected Dean of the NATO Strategic Working Group.
He has written books and articles on a variety of security, defense and military-related subjects.
His research areas include security and defense policy, state strategies and interests, international relations and organizations, democratic control over law enforcement services, as well as critical infrastructure protection.
