Andrew joined the Royal Society as Director of International Affairs in 2018. He spent the previous 20 years working in Government, working primarily for the Foreign and commonwealth Office, but also for the (then) Department of Trade and Industry. In a wide range of roles, he focused geographically on the Islamic World and Latin America and thematically on security and trade issues. At the Royal Society, he is responsible for delivery of the international strategy and for the Society's strategic priority of supporting international scientific collaboration.
