Ágnes Melinda Kovács is an Associate Professor at the Department of Cognitive Science, Central European University, Budapest and the director of the Cognitive Development Center. She completed a BA and MA in Psychology at the Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj Napoca, Romania and a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati, Trieste, after which she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and at the Central European University. Her research focuses on how the developing human mind manages to make sense of the complex social and physical world. She investigates the basic cognitive mechanisms that allow infants to learn from and about social partners.
