Nathalie Fomproix started working for International Union of Biological Science (IUBS) in March 2009. She holds a PhD in cell and molecular Biology from the University of Paris V, France. She has worked as a post-doc at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm,  Sweden, and at the University of Lyon, France. She received a training in economic and social management in Lyon and worked for the Chemistry Cluster of the Rhône–Alpes Region.
