Prof. Dr. János Bogárdi

Janos J. Bogardi is a senior fellow of the Center for Development Research of the University Bonn. Since 2004 he is professor for water resources management at teh Agricultural Faculty of the same university. He was executive officer of the Global Water System Project (2009-2012) and then its senior advisor (2012-2015). He served till his retirement from the UN as director of the United Nations University (UNU) Institute for Environment and Human Security 2003-2009 and parallel as Vice Rector a.i. in Europ. He is a fellow of the Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Study in South Africa and Senior SCientific Advisor of the Institute of Advanced Studies Köszeg (iASK) in Hungary. He is memebr of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the West African Science Centre for Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL), chairman of the Advisory Board of the Center for Environmental System Research (CESR) of the University of Kassel and member of the Board of Directors of the International Business College Mitrovic in Kosovo.
He was Chief of Section in the Division of Water Science in UNESCO, Paris 1995-2003. He was chairprofessor of hydrology hydraulics and quantitative water resources management at the Wageningen Agricultural University, the Netherlands 1989-1995. He was associate professorat the Asian Institute of Technology (1985-1988). He holds a Dipl. Ing. degree from the University of Technology, Budapest (1969) and a Dr.-Ing degree from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany (1979).
