Ms. Asano received the Bachelor of Engineering from the Department of Engineering, University of Tokyo, Japan in 2003 and the Bachelor of Science from the School of Business and Technology, University of Maryland, the United States in 2005. She also received the Master of Public Policy from the The National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Japan in 2015.

After about 4 year experience in the international business divisions in retail industry, she joined Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) in 2009. She had been working for the Department of International Affairs and in charge of developing and promoting International Strategy of JST until March of 2013. In April 2013, she was transferred to Nanotechnology and Materials Science Team, Department of Strategic Planning and Management. Since then, she has been dealing with development of the JST’s strategy on Nanotechnology and Materials Science as well as in charge of international affiars of JST’s funding programs for basic research. From April in 2018, she has started working for Ministry for Foreign Affairs as Science and Technology Researcher to support Prof. Teruo Kishi, Science and Technology Advisor to the Minister for Fireign Affairs of Japan.
