A staunch advocate for mainstreaming environment into all development sectors. A strong communicator and change agent, and an engineer who is passionate about linking science with development.

Al Zubi serves as Advisor to the President for Science Policy and Programme Development at the Royal Scientific Society in Jordan. Prior to that, she led the Scientific Research Department at Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation - a non-for-profit founded and funded by the Arab Bank. Through that post, Ruba oversaw Shoman's Arab Reseacrhers Award, Shoman's Scientific Research Support Fund, and the science innovation Programmes.

Al Zuba was the first Policy Director at the Ministry of Environment, led several departments at the Development and Free Zones Commission, and served as the Chief Executive Officer at EDAMA Association for Energy, Water and Environment - the first Jordanian business association in the green technology sector. She also led the Clean Technology Sector Development component at the USAID Jordan Competitiveness Programme which helped to enhance provate sector competitveness, created jobs and increased exports in the greentech clusters.

Al Zubi is active in the NGOs field, both locally and internationally, and serves on Boards of several entities and initiatives. She is a founding member of Jordan's Green Building Council, a UNF Plus Social Good Advisor, and was selected by the United Nations Foundation as one of the Protectors of Progress on SDGs.

She was Jordan's Eisenhower Fellow for 2012 and continues to advocate for green innovation and entrepreuneurship throughout her journey.
